After graciously doing an interview, the team at Banshee of Bainbridge has offered to dontate 2 tix to some lucky winners.

The Happiest Medium Giveaway is on a wedding-themed roll . . . Last month we offered you An Ideal Husband,  this month we offer you a Honeymoon!   Okay, again, it’s not a REAL Honeymoon – and actually, it’s an Unfortunate one . . . The Unfortunate Honeymoon of  Tony and Steve.  But come on – everyone knows how much fun it is to laugh at other’s misfortune and what could be funnier than this . . .

Tony and Steve were once happily engaged to be married.

It didn’t end well.

One went to rehab and the other went to Ben and Jerry’s. A lot. So when they both unexpectedly showed up with friends on their prepaid honeymoon where us three reformed country crooners reside with Miss Lindy Loo… well… our lives became much more complicated. Young love blossoms on our beaches, old love becomes violent on the dance floor. There’s blogs, and strip tap dancing, and even Christian Yoga going on here. How odd!

We’d tell you more, but we’re too busy cleaning up the mess these people left.

Oscar Wilde’s dark and witty comedy, now set in a time of Mods vs. Rockers, Prewar vs. Postwar, and Society vs. Free Love. MODOTTI is the story of photographer, silent film actress and ultimately activist and communist subversive, Tina Modotti. Sleek and sensuous, yet as dangerous as a tiger, she tore through the male dominated political forums almost as fast as she tore through her lovers.

Modotti fled to Mexico lured by the revolution and artistic excitement. Accompanied by her lover, American photographer, Edward Weston, she took on the challenge of a culture undergoing rapid change. Relishing in her new found freedom, her contemporaries were muralist, Diego Rivera, and Cuban revolutionary, Julio Mella.

Taking on controversial issues is a young person’s adventure, one that is bound to have dire consequences.

Modotti is playing at the Acorn Theatre (410 West 42nd Street)

Written by award-winning playwright David Stallings, and directed by Cristina Alicea; Barrier Island tackles the nature of a fearless community that chooses to stake their lives on the strength of the historic Galveston seawall — built to protect the island from natural disasters — as they await the arrival of one of the most devastating hurricanes to hit the United States since Katrina, Hurricane Ike.
